Medialink – Wireless 802.11N Router 150 Mbps Review, Great inexpensive wireless router

I have been using the Medialink Wireless 802.11N 150 Mbps Broadband Router for almost a month now, and it works great for an affordable wireless router. The wireless signal does not drop, and reaches three floors high in my home.  I have not had to manually reboot my router by unplugging it from the wall and replugging it back in the wall, or change the channel of the router. The wireless signal from the router is fast enough to smoothly play a HD video without slowdown from YouTube, and other video website on my laptop, and tablet computer. All my older 802.11G wireless devices like my laptop works with the Medialink wireless router. My Asus Nexus 7 and Kobo Vox Tablet also run great on the wireless router for connecting to the internet to watch online HD video and listen to MP3 quality online radio.

I tried the router with Windows 8, a Xbox 360 console and tablets running Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and 4.2.1 Jellybean and it works on them as well.

The instruction manuals which came inside the box and the instructions printed on the box are easy to understand because the instructions has detailed pictures and step by step instructions.

The router was easy to setup with the installation CD for Windows, or using the web browser based setup wizard for the Medialink router. Plugging in the power adapters, modem cables, and network cables from my desktop computers and game consoles were simple.

The router is also small enough that it does not use much room on my computer table. I also like the antennas are hidden inside the wireless router, so I do not see them pointing out of the routers. The Blue LED lights on front also look nice.

When I touch the top of the router’s case, and the power adapter for the router, it does not get hot. It is just slightly warm.

The Wired networking ports are also pretty fast, and I can also stream HD videos from YouTube without slowdowns or buffering.

This router works for both DSL and Cable broadband internet connection. The Router also supports speeds of 150MBps 802.11N , and comes with WPS (WiFi Protected Setup), WPA and WPA2 Security Protocol ,WEP, TKIP, and AES – 64 and 128 Bit Encryption.

The Wired network connection speeds are 10/100MBps.

The router also comes with a firewall, and can be use as a wireless access point to extend a wireless network you already have.

The router is also Microsoft WHQL Certified , so it would work for Windows 2000, XP (32 and 64 Bit), Vista (32 and 64 Bit), 7 (32 and 64 Bit).

It also works with Linux and Apple Mac OS X, iOS , and other operating systems which support Wi-Fi.
