Up until the release of WordPress 2.9, setting up “post-image” support for your blog was a bit more tedious a task than it really needed to be. Luckily, that’s no longer an issue. You’re Killing Me Zappos is a great redesign project undertaken by Andrew Wilkinson. The project began after his disgust at their current design:

I’d like to start by saying that I think Zappos is an exceptionally cool company – everything I say from this point on is exclusively in the interest of helping. I understand why you guys are successful. I’ve been floored by stories of your generosity towards your customers, and your company culture sounds wonderful. Create a new document (1080X1200px).

We’re going to use guides in order to set out our layout. In order to set a guide, go to view>new guide and then specify either horizontal or vertical, as well as a distance for your guide. The default guide setting is in cm, but you can simply type in px.
