Learn Something New: Photoshop Actions

Thu, 09/04/2014 - 12:09 — julie

You really don’t have to be a Photoshop expert to use Photoshop Actions. You really don’t.

Put simply, Photoshop allows you to record the events you action, and can replay those steps for you. This is called an action. You are also not limited to just using the actions you have created yourself, you can download actions others have created, and apply them to your own files as well.

They are a great time saver, especially if you have to redo the same set of steps over and over again.

So, lets take a quick look at how to download, install and use a Photoshop Action:

What is a Photoshop Action?

Photoshop Actions are a series of predefined steps that can be applied to the files you work with. It can usually be applied with just a few simple clicks without needing to manually apply each event.

Your site is live, and you can at last sit back and wait for the readers to flock in.

Inspiring Photo-Realistic Examples of Branding Mockups

Fri, 08/22/2014 - 15:10 — julie

In times gone by, skilled designers that undertook the monumental task of creating a brand identity for corporate businesses would, as a means of showing their client, typically have to create time-consuming real-world examples of the brand in action.

Nowadays, with the help of Photoshop and Illustrator, we can quickly and painlessly create these ‘real-world’ examples without ever having to leave the office or studio by using pre-designed mockup templates, as we now call them.

Some designers have elevated the art of creating branding mockups to a new level by showcasing pre-branded items, such as business cards, envelopes, headed paper, coffee cups, folders, bags, and many other common office items, in an inspiring and photo-realistic environment.
